This message is in reference to our time spent with Shirley as our Night Nurse for my two boys over 3.5 years:
Shirley has been part of our family since I had my first son, Chase on July 11, 2017. Shirley (and her team) came in during the evenings to help me care for my newborn for 4 months (or until sleeping through the night.) As a new mom, we all know how overwhelming it could be and having Shirley or her staff here with me was about comfort, education, sleep and peace of mind. I learned SO much about my baby’s needs and how to transition as they grow and learn to sleep on their own. Of course, you have that motherly instinct but there are so many things you are learning and to help get over the anxiety of it all; it’s nice to have a guide. Shirley will also follow your lead if there are certain ways you want to approach the care. Not to mention, how warm, caring and loving Shirley is (and her staff.) She geniuly cares about the babies so much and ability to thrive. The knowledge is so precious to learn that stays with you as your baby grows. Always available for questions and guidance.
We had Shirley back this year when I had my 2nd son. I was equally as pleased if big more. We love Shirley so much and anyone would be happy to haver her help take care of your newborn along side you! Happy to connect with you any new moms who are curious about Shirley, her staff and what having a Night Nurse is about.

I first met Shirley when I was a sleep deprived mess. My son was 4 months old and up every 45minutes. As a new mom, I had no idea why he wasn't sleeping. I reached out to Shirley and she was at my home to help the very next day. She was kind and caring. There was never any judgment. Shirley was nurturing toward my son and made me feel safe and comfortable. Within one week, he was sleeping several hours on his own!!!
When I became pregnant 2 years later with my daughter, we knew we needed Shirley. She started with us when my second baby was just 2 weeks old. I did not even hesitate to have Shirley watch my 2 week old because I know how kind, loving, and nurturing she is. Over the years, Shirley has become part of our family. She taught me so much about newborns and toddlers and I am truly grateful to have had her in my life when I needed her the most. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have studied how important child development and attachment is. Shirley helped put my mind at ease knowing that she was loving and caring for my child so I could get some much needed rest. Sleep is important for my mental health, and I am so glad I had Shirley by my side to help me.

We used Shirley’s services during evenings, after bringing our twins home from the hospital in 2018. We had a 2 year old at home; and after welcoming premature twins, decided assistance with the new babies would be best. We received Shirley’s name as a recommendation from a friend; and I am glad we did! We were very comforted with Shirley’s knowledge and expertise in newborn care. She assisted with night feedings and sleep training; and became a part of our family quickly!
While the boys grew up; and adjusted to sleeping through the nights (thank you, Shirley!), we still keep in touch. I would certainly recommend Shirley to anyone in need of assistance! Shannon Cassata Burr Ridge, IL
